Off to new beginnings.

Community. It's a term that nowadays is misused by brands, social media managers, and commercially organized "community meetups."

Community, in the best sense of the word, happens organically. There’s a good spot to skate somewhere in a strange part of the city? You bet there are gonna be skaters who start to know each other. That’s a community. Not a Saturday pilates class with free matcha and three sponsors attached. But I digress.

I was lucky enough to be part of a photo community called Lux & Laune back in 2010. We were just a bunch of young, hungry nerds who wanted to learn, share, and figure out how to express our vision. We had a great run up until 2016. People matured, life happened, and many of us are still professionals working in the business today. Including me.

That sort of organic growth and lasting connection can’t just be wished into existence. It requires a space, and it requires a group of like-minded (or delightfully not—discourse is great) people who are longing for real exchange and looking to improve.

Creative Union, launching here in spring 2026, is the foundation for that space. Let’s build this thing, grow together, and hopefully, make a few new friends along the way.
